For anybody who has worked on El Cariso, we are looking for old pictures and some past history on the crew. So if anyone has some pics and info, post a comment...
hey there chris po here was on the crew from, hmmm lets see now 94-99. i have recently started up a group on face book called EL CARISO INERAGENCY HOT SHOTS. there are only a few of us on so far but hope to get lots more ducks on the group to post pics, share stories or do a little friendly hazing doe. hope to see some of you old n new ducks there soon.
I like the site. I dont do blogging so I had to use my wifes log in info Jay, Montie and Steve, would know me as Tomo I worked on the crew for 3 years from 1999-2002 and loved it, but unlike the salty tough guys I pussed out and now I am a Sergeant for a city fire dept in Georgia. I have 2 kids, a wife and a retail business. I as do most others who spent time on the finest hot shot crew in the country reminisce almost daily on the fantastic learning opportunity about fire, life and growing up El Cariso gave me. Wear that shirt with pride and enjoy all 7 steps. By the way I find it particularly funny that what you call the old buggies was our front line machine.
I have some photos on my site at http://www.wildfiretoday.com/gallery/fire-pictures-general/ of El Cariso 1970-1972. They are of low resolution. If you need some higher resolution versions, let me know (go to the site and click on "contact us".

Julian "George" Lee here. Was on the ECHS crew in the summers of 1963,64,65,and 66. Missed the Loop fire by about a month, having returned to school.
